Our minds decide if it was good or bad
Our hearts know if we've been had
Don't want to go through Life all sad
Cuz that's just a waste, an ill-conceived fad
Here is the confusion
Is the answer seclusion?
Our senses add to the illusion
Don't make this harder than nuclear fusion
Not only must we have the skills
To be able to pay the bills
We must perform all the drills
Before Death ultimately kills

You write very well! But the last one made me sad. I'm sorry if your dad was mean. But keep writing...
ReplyDeleteI find it healing to express myself in writing. Most of the time profound feelings of sadness are the impetus for these posts. These writings are my counseling sessions. Thanks for "listening." Take care, Nancy.
ReplyDeleteSeclusion for a little while is good. But long term? nah
ReplyDeleteI agree, Pamela. "No (wo)man is an island." We are all connected. Sometimes I really need to lean on someone else to survive. Other times I try to act stoic and brave even though I'm really scared inside. And being there for someone else in his/her time of need is always good karma.
